2009 RIWA Spring Wrestling Information

 

The Rhode Island Wrestling Association (RIWA) will run a Spring Wrestling program offering instruction and competition in Folk style, Freestyle and Greco/Roman wrestling.  The RIWA State Club “Rhode Island Reds” will run from March 4, 2009 through July 1, 2009. USA Wrestling card is required and can be purchased online at www.themat.com or at the Wednesday State-Wide practice at Mt Pleasant High School.  For additional information contact Rich Munger at 401-465-5311.

 

Qualifications:

            Open to all USA Wrestling Age Groups with the exception of the Bantam and Intermediate Division. The 2009 USA Wrestling Age Groups are:

·        Novice – Born 1997 – 1998

·        Middle School – Born 1995 – 1996

·        Cadet – Born 1993 – 1994

·        Junior – Born 1991 – 1992

Format:

Practice/Instruction will be held on weekdays Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday at various locations throughout the state. Go to our website www.riwrestling.com for practice sites and times.  The Wednesday “State-Wide” practice will be held at Mt Pleasant High School in Providence, from 6:45-8:45 PM.

 

 

MARCH 4 TH – SIGN-UP BEGINS

 

Starting Wednesday the 4th of March we will begin sign-ups and practice at Mt Pleasant High School in Providence from 6:45 to 8:45 pm.  Other Practice Sites are: Monday and Thursday – CYO Center in Woonsocket from 6-8:30 pm. Tuesday and Thursday, Gaudet Middle School in Middletown from 6-8:00 pm

 

TWO - 9 WEEK SESSIONS AVAILABLE FOR $100.00 FOR EACH SESSION

OR $180 IF YOU SIGN UP FOR BOTH SESSIONS.

 

·      SESSION 1 – MARCH 4TH  THRU APRIL 29TH

·      SESSION 2 – MAY 6TH  THRU JUL 1ST

 

As a member of the “Rhode Island Reds” you can attend any practice site each week plus the state-wide practice. That’s up to 4 nights a week for $100.00 for 9 weeks. Plus we have lots of tournaments we plan to participate in. Here are some of them:
